Role Summary

As an Operating Room Nurse, you will:

• Participate in self-scheduling posted four weeks in advance for better predictability.
• Collaborate in an environment where respect and teamwork among surgical staff is prioritized.
• Access state-of-the-art equipment to enhance patient safety and workflow efficiency.
• Engage in regular discussions with leaders to share insights on patient care and surgical workflow improvements.
• Be prepared for on-call duties during selected non-business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and prepare patients prior to surgery.
• Provide thorough education to patients and families regarding the surgical process.
• Manage patient preparation tasks, including intravenous therapy and surgical site verification.
• Participate in the surgical site verification process, adhering to universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond effectively to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while following evidence-based practices.
• Work collaboratively within a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Apply critical thinking and leadership skills to ensure safe nursing care.
• Monitor and document changes in patient conditions throughout your shift.
• Educate families about the patient’s medical conditions and treatment plans.

Qualifications Required:

• Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (or CPR) certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Previous experience as an OR circulator is required.
